The Denver Restaurant Scene

The city of Denver is known for being the home to many fast food chains such as Chipotle and Quzino’s but this does mean that the Mile High City does not feature some remarkable local eateries. Spread out across the 79 official neighborhoods in Denver is a variety of restaurants turn even the pickiest eater into a happy foodie. Here are two favorites:

 

Pearl Street near Washington Park

Rated as the #2 restaurant in all of Denver by Urbanspoon.com, Sushi Den is the premier sushi restaurant in Denver. This restaurant has a modern atmosphere complete with unique light fixtures that are pieces of art on their own. Sushi Den opened its doors in 1985 and maintains its excellence by flying in fish fresh from a market in Fukuoka, Japan. According to the New York Times, Sushi Den is not only the best sushi restaurant in Denver, but it is one of the top sushi restaurants in the United States. Recommended rolls at Sushi Den include the Kobe Beef Roll and the Jalapeno Sashimi.

 

LoDo

Along Blake Street in LoDo is Vesta Dipping Grill. This fine dining establishment is located in a renovated spice and coffee factory that dates back to the 1900s. Vesta Dipping Grill restaurant serves a variety of international fare and was selected as a 5280 Critics Pick. Upon entering Vesta Dipping Grill, guests will notice the warm and contemporary interior complete with an exposed kitchen and a décor filled with copper and gold accents. This is the type of restaurant that invites diners to relax and stay for hours. If you love condiments and sauces, head to Vesta where there are over 30 sauces to enjoy with your meal. The menu changes with the seasons but diners rave about the venison and the duck.
